At Home: The Lounge project

I mentioned earlier in the week a change of environment is an instant happiness maker, right? Well, we’re planning to do just that and makeover our little lounge. It’s a little dull at the moment with too much stuff in it and we haven’t decorated since moving in over 2 years ago.  A modest makeover is just what is needed before the Winter sets in. Who needs to wait till Spring?

I want it to feel snug, free of clutter and ready for us to relax in for the months ahead. A lighter space where we can put our feet up and watch movies with a glass of wine in hand. A place for me to curl up in front of our retro 70s gas fire (trying to make it sound better than what it is!) crafting/blogging up treats. A room for us to feel content in. ‘Tis very simple really.

So in 2 weeks exactly, we’re going to add some Sanderson Dandelion Clocks Wallpaper to the chimney breast. I’ve admired the print for a while now and the different colours will give me something to work with for the rest of the lounge – new cushion covers maybe? I’m hoping the retro style print will make the fire look cool too. Hmm. We shall see. In the meantime we’re getting rid of our bookcase and storing/selling/donating DVDs and a few books. A little move around of furniture, a new coffee table and rug and that’s that! Happiness Maker! I shall share photos once we’re done, if you fancy a peek? Snug & cosy Winter here we come.

Are you planning any room makeovers this Winter?
