A Week in Film

Everything Is Illuminated // Moonrise Kingdom // Wuthering Heights

The Godfather // The Muppet Christmas Carol // Agathe Christie’s Poirot

I dedicated a whole afternoon yesterday to watch movies online whilst I started a little Christmas craftiness (more on that next week). Blinkbox, an online streaming service with no subscription fees, contacted me to see if I’d like to watch some free movies to feature in my A Week In Film post. Well, I couldn’t turn down a free movie, that would just be silly.

Moonrise Kingdom was the main highlight. Wes Anderson sits very close with Jean Pierre Jeunet in being my favourite director. Both directors have really playful styles that make me fall in love with the moving image all over again *contended sigh*.

I’ve also been watching far too many episodes of Agathe Christie’s Poirot, mainly because it’s ace and I’m cool like that. It’s the perfect type of TV for popping on in the background whilst I’m doing other stuff, having watched all of the episodes before.

Finally, I have watched my first Christmas movie of 2012. I know, but I couldn’t help myself. The Muppet Christmas Carol makes me happy. Very happy indeed.

Happy Wednesday folks!
