Lately: Looking Forward List

My boyfriend turns 30 tomorrow, or should I say man-friend? I’m probably more excited than him, but I can’t wait to celebrate the day and weekend with his lovely face.

Our Australia holiday is only months away and I can’t wait to sit on beaches like this, reading, writing, eating and dipping my toes in the sea.

Christmas. Well, this had to be on the list didn’t it? I’ve got lots to do but the cards are done and they were pretty simple to make. Using a star paper punch I made lots of stars in no time at all using pages from an old book (apologies to book lovers) and stuck them on plain card stock. I’ve also glued the stars on Manila gift tags so it’s all coordinates, darling! They would look rather lovely with a festive message stamped on alas I think they’ll be just fine as they are.

If you live in the Upper Calder Valley, you’ll already know about this, after Todmorden’s success on Saturday. The Valley of Lights is taking place in Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd this Thursday and Saturday. Coordinating with the Christmas lights switch on, they will be a lantern parades, street bands, fire performers, giant lantern puppets, late night shop openings, night markets and so much more. A magical evening  – I can’t wait to get wrapped up and drink mulled wine.

You wouldn’t think this photo represents a girly weekend away but it does for me and my best mate. We’re off to Grasmere, in the Lake District in January where we shall quaff fine wines, eat cake and spout poetry like any self-respecting Withnail & I fan would do. I cannot wait.
