Chocolate and Hazelnut Biscotti & The Good Housekeeping Step-by-Step Cook Book

I hope this book stays by your side for years to come and that it gives you many happy and confident hours in the kitchen –

Meike Beck, Cookery Editor.

I’ve been looking for a cook book to use on a frequent basis. A book that gets grubby with floured-fingers and splashes of Bolognese sauce. Is there a finer sight than a well used cook book? I think not.

The Good Housekeeping Step-by-Step Cook Book is more than a recipe book. Filled with useful techniques, ideas and information to use in everyday cooking, its tips, troubleshooting and easy to follow recipes are perfect for the beginner or experienced cook. Having poured over the book and back again, could this be the essential kitchen possession I’ve been looking for? Minus the kettle of course.

With Autumn/Winter upon us, there is nothing I love more than to get in the kitchen making tasty recipes and learning new cooking skills (gains 5lb). To begin with I made the Chocolate and Hazelnut Biscotti – something to nibble on whilst watching The Great British Bake Off and dunk in my coffee. The recipe was easy to follow and included nutritional information and ideas for finishing touches. The technique tip with each recipe, ensures you have everything covered if any issues occur, a great idea for the novice cook.

Presented beautifully in hardback (look at the striped cover – continued throughout) and accompanied with stylish photographs it now takes pride of place on the kitchen counter to be used everyday. Priced at £19.50, with 650 techniques and 400 recipes, I think it’s worth every penny.

Disclaimer – I was not paid to write this post but was sent a copy of the book to review.
