Hebden Bridge

Inspired

Well, that was a pretty special weekend, wasn’t it? We’ve had the Olympics on 24/7 and have been left reeling from Saturday night, let alone from the opening ceremony the previous week. I’m really hoping it inspires people, not just the young generation, to aspire to do something you love and to concentrate on being the best in whatever you do because Great Britain has so much to offer and to be proud of. Aw, group hug.

I’m definitely more motivated from watching the games and will be focusing on my sewing and blogging wholeheartedly. My sewing is an ongoing project. I’m working on designs and different collections for my embroidered samplers – I promise I will show these once I’m happy. Slowly slowly, catchy monkey.

Along with a few other projects I’m working on, blogging is a big priority. I’m working hard behind the scenes to make my blog something to be proud of. That’s all I want really.

But what I’ve learnt more than anything  from these amazing athletes is to remain positive, be gracious, work hard, enjoy the good times and keep smiling. That’s what I’ll be doing this week…

As for the weekend, these were the best bits:

Having a tequila night on Saturday night, watching the Olympics (Oh Mo, I love ya!), eating walnut cake, buying lilies, making a little pouch for my GHDs (I know, any excuse to craft, right?), discovering St. Vincent, reading magazines, enjoying strawberries whilst watching Murray win Gold and writing happy lists. Ah weekend.

Happy Monday!

P.S No, I still haven’t given my nephew his teddy yet. Bad Lisa. But look at him!

I found the rowing inspiring – started rowing four years ago – Olympic gold medallist now. I took form it that it is not too late to make a change or start something new and scary – as if she could do it – then so can I!

I like that you also took a lot from it, to inspire you in your own pursuits xx
