Photo Walk: Hebden Bridge Handmade Parade
Every year professional puppet makers, carnival artists, musicians, makers, stilt walkers and performers from across the region gather together to celebrate the art of the handmade.
Indian Elephants, Toucans, Dodos, Giant Turtles and a whole lot more of creatures that no longer grace our planet, were brought back to life on the streets of Hebden Bridge yesterday for the annual Handmade Parade. As predicted it was a riot of colour and atmosphere and the live bands could be heard from every corner of the Valley.
This is a picture heavy post – you have been warned!
I started the photo walk from the bottom of my road, only to discover that I left my memory card in my laptop – doh. After a quick sprint up our steep steps, I ran back down to be greeted by a pair of Dodos…just a normal Sunday in Hebden Bridge. I then made my way to the park to meet my sister and the kiddos by The Trades Club – the perfect spot to greet the rest of the Endangerous Expedition. I loved that the Ruby (1-year-old) looked confused throughout, then as soon as the Scorpions appeared (quite scary!) she started clapping loudly! Tough cookie, that one.
Congrats Hebden Bridge on another awesome Handmade Parade!

Oh they are gorgeous photos – and stunning creations! I think I like the blue zebra the best though!

I can’t believe I didn’t know about this – it’s so close by to me and I’ve never even heard of it! It looks like such a fun day out. I’ll definitely try and go along next year. I think my two girls would love it (and so would I!).
