Photo Walk: Blogtacular
The one thing I was looking forward to most at Blogtacular was the photo walk with Xanthe Berkeley. I was really keen to do at least one hands-on workshop where I could practice using both my DSLR and phone camera, alongside online friends. We were lucky in that the rain had stopped and we had free reign to explore the streets armed with tips and tricks from Xanthe along the way.
We were asked to look up and down, at doorways and windows, take group shots and look for texture, colour and light. Find reflections, take a selfie, jump, shoot from the hip, find the small details and of course, have fun!
Here’s a selection of my favourites that I took on that very magical morning, mainly with my DSLR but a few on my camera phone too. I hope you like!
It was lovely to see the expressions on strangers faces whilst we cooed over a bright doorway or a runaway balloon. I’m hoping we may have cheered their morning just a little – who doesn’t love colourful balloons huh?
Photography is a great passion of mine and I love that this photo walk gave me the confidence to get out more and not to be afraid to stand still in a street full of people and snap to my heart’s content. So my friends, here’s launching my new photo walk feature on the blog! I’m hoping to go along to more group photo walks with strangers, with friends and on my own too. I already have one planned for this weekend!
