Etsy Made Local: Leeds Christmas Market

Remember on Monday when I said I felt organised for once and how I was looking forward to the festive season? Well, scrap that. A mere 48 hours have passed and I’m already feeling stressed, having worked out how many days I have till I ‘break up’, and how little time I have to get through my MEGA work list. One of the reasons I’m panicking is because my usual default times to do extra freelance work are at weekends and evenings, for…

Bookmarked: With Lavender and Lace via Moorea Seal

One of my favourite things about blogging is finding exciting brands and products from the UK and across the world, even if they are only new to my eyes. Whilst perusing the American site, Moorea Seal, which sells fantastic objects and accessories made by artists from across the US, I found With Lavender & Lace. Oh me, oh my. Handmade phone cases? I adore well crafted products but I’m a sucker for anything that can be used each and every day. I just can’t get over…

Made! Fairytale Of New York Christmas Wreath

I, along with 29 other bloggers, was asked to take part in the Country Baskets Festive Face Off blogger challenge a few weeks ago. Seen as though I’m a softie for crafty fun and Christmas, I of course said yes! We were sent a hamper filled to the brim with seasonal crafting goodness, and the challenge was to make a Christmas decoration of our choice using as little or all of the basket’s contents. Making a Christmas wreath became a…

Tote of the Week: Neon Pink Owl Tote by Les Miniboux

Well that was a week and a half. The type of week where I just want to leaf through magazines and browse websites ALL weekend with hot chocolate by my side. You may have noticed my blog suddenly disappearing (always the drama queen) on Wednesday and Thursday? Sorry about that. It is the first time in 3 years I’ve had blog issues, which were out of my control, and it completely knocked me for six. I’ll write a separate post…

    Gift Guide: Gifts for Weddings

When it comes to buying a wedding gift, I’m perfectly happy going along with what the couple request on the invitation; a donation to their honeymoon fund perhaps or buying something from a curated wedding list. However for wedding couples who don’t ask for anything but the plesaure of your company or if you can’t make it to the wedding at all, it’s nice to find a little something to pop a smile on their faces. A screen print is…

    Gift Guide: Handmade Laptop/iPad Cases

A few months ago I bought my very own laptop. It was a long time coming and much needed so I could concentrate on blogging and freelance writing in my spare time without worrying about the one I shared – it was secondhand and partial to crashing quite a lot. To protect my new Chromebook from any bumps in the road I thought it best to find a perfect laptop case (see previous post), and along the way I bookmarked…

    Best British Designer-Makers: Lovely Pigeon

It seems only natural, being an avid admirer of contemporary craft and working at the beautiful Heart Gallery, that I begin a new series on the blog celebrating the best designer-makers in the UK. From jewellery, ceramics and textiles to beauty, stationery and art – there is so much to discover on this little island of ours. If I can help a little by promoting these artists/makers of awesomeness, then that makes me happy. Plus I get to discover pretty…
