As much as I’ve been dreaming of our Christmas holiday I can’t quite believe how quickly it has arrived. It’s the week before Christmas, folks. What is that all about? Now the presents have been bought and the tree is up, I’m keen to make sure I enjoy these last few days leading up to the holidays, even though, like everyone else, there is a lot of work to be done. The first week of December has been full on. Christmas parties with friends, colleagues and family; house clear outs (there’s still so much to sort out – I’m losing the will), never-ending lists and a cough that just won’t budge. But it’s Christmas right? We all sign up to the chaos knowing full well it’s going to be manic until the moment we update our out of office email message. Oh what a happy day that will be!

I think it’s safe to say I’m in full on festive mode now. Bring on the celebrations, deck those halls, and pass me the mulled wine. Life is far too short and if this year has taught me anything it’s to make each day count, and I promise to do just that. This time of year is my favourite so I’m going to make sure I enjoy and embrace every little moment of it; the sherry, the long lists, and…

As you read this (if you’re reading this Sunday am) I am frantically baking brownies for a fundraising event for the Bruising Banditas this afternoon. We’re at Thought Bubble (comic convention in Leeds) wearing skates, selling cakes and chatting all things Roller Derby. I’m excited to go but like always, I’ve left things to the last-minute and I’ve no doubt left the kitchen in a post-brownie-baking mess for the OH.

I think the last time we had a catch up I was having a good old moan about feeling under the weather. Sorry about that. I know it was only flu but sometimes we all need to vent and for the last 2 weeks boy have I felt sorry for myself. I’m feeling much better now and have even kicked a few leaves around this week with a smile on my face. All I have to share with you today…
