Wardrobe Details: Superwork Bag & Culottes in Autumn

As you read this (if you’re reading this Sunday am) I am frantically baking brownies for a fundraising event for the Bruising Banditas this afternoon. We’re at Thought Bubble (comic convention in Leeds) wearing skates, selling cakes and chatting all things Roller Derby. I’m excited to go but like always, I’ve left things to the last-minute and I’ve no doubt left the kitchen in a post-brownie-baking mess for the OH.

In fact, if I had used the time I spent writing this post to bake, I would have avoided all this panic but alas, I always think there will be enough time. I seem to forget that I LOVE the snooze button a little too much.

Anyhoo, I thought I’d share some less frazzled highlights of our long weekend and an outfit that is fast becoming my fail-safe this season.

These photos were taken in Salford Quays post-breakfast (waffles and crispy bacon FYI) on the way to The Lowry, after watching PJ Harvey the night before. We managed to fit in a cinema trip, 3 meals out, a gig, an art gallery trip and shopping in 24 hours. Impressive considering my usual country bumpkin ways!

For the trip I’m wearing my trusty black culottes with tights (which you can see styled here), a striped long-sleeved top, faux leather jacket, cashmere scarf and my new work bag from Kipling.

Now, I say ‘work’ as I’ve been using this Superwork Bag to carry my laptop in to and from work for the past few weeks, but then last week I took it on a work trip and managed to use it for an overnight bag too. It was so practical, and stylish to boot, that I decide to bring it with me again for another night away. The Superwork and play bag it is!

I usually take my backpack on trips away but this fits a large laptop comfortably (in a padded sleeve) and has padded straps for your shoulders too making it really easy and comfortable to carry. As well as all the compartments to fit multiple items (making me feel super organised!) it’s perfect for trips away too, and includes a trolley sleeve to attach to luggage. I managed to bring with me a change in outfit, my makeup/toiletries bag and my DSLR camera. It’s official folks, I love this bag. You can get your Kipling Superwork bag here.

Since taking these, the weather has got even colder so I’ll be wearing a chunky knit under my jacket and donning hat and gloves from now on. I can’t beleive we’re already in gloves season but secretly I’m loving getting wrapped up. Show me your winter outfit posts in the comments below, I’m always looking for inspiration!
