7 Tips to Get Outside More This December

Needing motivation to get outside this winter? Here’s 7 tips that have pushed me out of the front door into the frosty air lately;

1. Need to run an errand? Go the long way round to post Christmas cards or to pick up food

2. Take a bag and go foraging for Christmas decor in your garden or neighbourhood. Look for holly, ivy, yew, box and fir. Don’t forget to forage responsibly!

3. Help your community and do a spot of litter picking

4. Listen to a relaxing festive soundtrack to put you in the mood for Christmas , and focus on having some quality time on your own

5. Embrace night walks and view your neighbourhood illuminated at Christmas – it’s pretty magical

6. Try different hot drinks to take with you on your walks. Masala Chai and mulled winter punch are my current faves!

7. Plan walks with friends or family to exchange Christmas gifts

A massive thank you to Vivobarefoot for kitting out my feet with these Tracker FG hiking boots. All Vivobarefoot footwear is designed to be wide, thin and flexible: as close to barefoot as possible. They promote your foot’s natural strength and movement. Allowing you to feel the ground beneath your feet.

Now that Polly’s walking again, I can’t wait to put them to the test on the Calder Valley hills. I’ll keep you posted!
