Lately: In The Details

I’m on a roll, guys. One week on from my last Lately post and I’m still feeling positive. Shake those pom poms!

For someone who states they’re a ‘positive lass‘ in their blog bio, features a weekly Positive Things to do This Week post on said blog, and hosts a #sharethepositive hashtag on Instagram; you’d think I’d be shiny happy Lisa all of the time, right? But of course, I am a real human being. Things piss me off (grr). I worry all of the time (wah). I lose all sense of my reality when anxiety hits (le sigh). And I eat too much cake.  Human, I am.

I just need to remember that positivity rules all and with my duo of aceness (OH & Polly) all will be well. Let’s get to it!

I’ve booked some time off next week so I can concentrate on doing all the things I was meant to around Christmas – tidying/sorting the house, blogging, and organising the office. But first I’m off to Aberdeen for a roller derby packed weekend watching the Banditas bout against Blackpool. It’s all very exciting.

Records! I managed to listen to David Bowie at the weekend without tears running down my face. This is progress, my friends. Let’s dance!

Posting letters off the beaten track. I have no idea why this makes me feel good?!

We’re getting our milk delivered soon to support our local milkman, reduce waste and for our convenience too. What’s not to like? This excites me a bit too much.

I love this colour combination, spotted whilst walking to roller derby training the other day. Pop!

More colour! Valentine’s Day came and went (more soon on our laid-back, food-fuelled weekend) and my friends at Ocean Finance wanted to celebrate the day by injecting some love into our home, in the form of precious, wonderful homewares from Dunelm. Oh my. I chose some bright and practical Brabantia utensils to replace our old set that, quite frankly, were useless. Look how good they look!

Then I gave our sofa some attention with a new throw (£14.99) and cushions. Polly has claimed all the blankets and cushions in the house. It just got to a point where I gave up the fight and let her have one final chew, and then another…please don’t judge me. So I’m pleased to have a few new additions to our sofa safe in the knowledge that she now understands the words ‘no’ and ‘leave it’. Now I’m just waiting for Polly’s Furminator to arrive so we can tackle her shedding hair!

Other details: Polly’s nose, Jon Snow desktop wallpaper, homemade brownies, re-lacing my roller boots to help with my shin splints (random but worked!), swapping furniture from one room to another and eating wine gums while walking the pup.

So then chums, what have you been up to lately?
