Eleven Feel-Good Gifts
Another month is almost over and I’ve only the dreaded lurgy, a broken boiler and The Great British Bake Off to show for it. I’m not sure how we’re greeting November already, but here we are folks (insert shrugging woman emoji here).
To get a head start on silly season, and to distract myself from family woes and all the Brexit nonsense, I started my Christmas shopping. I love buying gifts for family and friends so my Christmas gifts this year have been retail therapy of sorts.
Since the climate emergency has been declared I think we’re all aware we need to consume less, look after what we have and buy well in the first place. So I’ve cherry-picked some gifts today that will not only make great gifts for loved ones but will give you all the feel-good credentials too.
P.S I had to add a book in there too…
- Settler Hive Seeds via Cissy Wears

- Patti Smith The Year of the Monkey
- Notabag backpack via Trouva
- Mittens via Afro Art
- Insect House via Woodland Trust
- Flower Press via Not on the High Street
- Tony’s Chocolonley via Waitrose
- Hay Watering Can via Really Well Made
If you’re thinking about buying new winter clothes this season (no judgment here, I have a beanie-buying problem) please give this resource guide from Celtic & Co a read first (see below). It’s refreshing to see a clothing brand educate people on the environmental impact of our throwaway fashion habit, when their business is selling clothes.
I don’t really fit into the fast fashion box as I buy second hand clothes and I don’t buy into trends but I can still do better. When I make a purchase in the future, I am going to look at the materials used, and focus on natural materials such as cotton, wool, linen and sheepskin. Read the Celtic & Co fast fashion guide here full of facts and tips.
Have you started your Christmas shopping yet?
