At Home: Spare Bedroom Update with George Colour Selector

Home interiors blogger

I’m really pleased to be working with George at ASDA, who have helped to update our spare bedroom with the help of the George Colour Selector. They’ve created something pretty nifty to help you create a colour scheme for your home. First, select your favourite colour via the colour wheel, and you’ll be given a host of other colours to consider when matching furniture and room accessories.

My favourite colour is blue, and as we already have one wall in the spare bedroom painted black I opted to look at the complementary colours of a dark blue to decorate the rest of the room. Greys, dusky pinks and duck egg blues were suggested so I chose the following items from George at ASDA to create a relaxing space for guests to enjoy (and for us too as it’s a better mattress).

Grey is one of my favourite colours, alongside black, blue and red (OK, so I’m a tad indecisive). Anyhoo, grey was the main colour I wanted to use to update the room as suggested via the colour wheel. We needed new curtains as the old ones were a burgundy-brown colour that were left by the previous owners. They made the room look tired and dark so I opted for the Grey Textured Weave Curtains priced from £35. The neutral colour gives the room a relaxed style perfect for the spare bedroom and the woven effect makes them look more expensive than they actually are. Hurrah for that.

To match the curtains I chose the Grey Tile Damask Duvet Set which I’m really impressed with. The bedding is soft and stylish and even though it is patterned it’s looks quite minimal in the room and complements the black wall perfectly. I teamed the duvet set with a Grey Fitted Sheet, Mocha and brushed white pillowcases. To keep Polly happy, I chose the Grey Chenile Throw at only £7.

The Lava Brightsounds 2  shown on the bedside table includes a Bluetooth speaker, ambient LED Light & built-in power bank for your mobile device. We’re using it when we go to the Festival this weekend (I’ll let you know how I get on with it) but I also think it’s a great choice for guest rooms so they can listen to music from their phone and charge it too. I chose the dusky pink speaker so it would match our new room. I love the leatherette carry handle, and at only £39.99 I think it makes a great gift for lovers of the great outdoors, garden and design lovers.

Love it! Massive fan of George homeware, especially their bedding. I have way too many sets – which is a shame because this tile one is gorgeous and would look lovely in our spare room! 😀
Looks so inviting, and Polly is obv pretty happy with it, so that’s the important thing! x
