Social Recommendations| Simply by visiting the Independent Life Leeds feed on Instagram, I discovered The Leeds Library, usually only open to its members, is celebrating its 250th Anniversary and is open temporarily to the public! I would not have heard about this, if it wasn’t for Instagram and following accounts that interest me. For that I am grateful. I know this isn’t big news, but I do sometimes think we take social media for granted; it can be a great thing, not simply a place for comparison. P.S The library was beautiful and visiting it made my week.

Petitions Speaking of libraries, let’s get down to the nitty gritty. If you value your public library here’s an online petition to protect library services by ringfencing government funding for libraries.

Libraries are so much more than lending books, they are a community hub, and across the country they’re being closed, cut back and/or outsourced to volunteers as a result of government cuts to local authority budgets. You can help by supporting yours, and signing the petition.

I definitely recommend it if you use your smart phone a lot, and feel the need to combat procrastination with some productivity. P.S Puzzles are becoming a ‘thing’ for me lately; I’ve got myself a sudoku book for my handbag and I bought a Star Wars jigsaw last week. I am twelve really.
