Cable and Cotton Limited Edition Christmas lights*

Christmas means different things for many people. For me it’s about celebrating the end of a year, remembering people in my life who aren’t with us anymore, and being grateful for the ones that are. Also, to be able to enjoy a few days off is going to be AMAZING; days full of house pottering and family gatherings are my favourite kind.

This year especially deserves a few extra celebrations; the OH’s new job (which he loves by the way), a couple of published features for me in a magazine (another one coming next month!), a fantastic trip to Australia, and a lovely new niece called Ruby! I cannot complain one jot my friends, not one jot.

So, in this week before Christmas, I will not fret that I’ve yet to make a food shopping list for Christmas day, wrap any gifts or clean the house from top to bottom. Instead I’ll forget why I’m a bit frazzled at the mo and think of why I love Christmas so so much.

What does Christmas mean to you?

Disclosure: Cable and Cotton kindly sent me a set of the Christmas selection lights to feature on the blog.

What beautiful decorations! It sounds like you’ve all had a wonderful year.

Christmas is a time of joy for me. I love seeing lights twinkling everywhere–I felt the festive spirit hit me when Dave flicked the lights on the Christmas tree!–and I love spending time with family and friends, particularly ones we don’t get to see very often.

Oh I love this. What a wonderful way to look at things.

I have so much to do right now and am frazzled and a bit of a mess to be honest, but by Christmas I will be living in Edinburgh which is a long held dream so that will be perfect and I will be with M and it will be my home.

It is exciting (and more than a little scary) but I think I will try to try your attitude on it.

Also: so glad he loves his job and congratulations on your new niece!!

What beautiful decs. I’m with you on revelling in some time off to mooch about with family and friends. Lots of Christmas prep isn’t done, but the tree is decorated and spotify playlist is growing, so I’ve got the essentials covered! I’m looking forward to some cold wintry walks on the beach, so I hope it doesn’t rain all week…
