One Little Word: Imagine
I spent some time working out what my One Little Word would be. Many cups of tea were drunk, words were scribbled down (and erased), and I walked, a lot. Imagine kept on coming back around and now, reciting it to myself daily, I know why.
2013 is the year where I will imagine new dreams. For too long now I have imagined owning a camper van and touring round the UK (I dream big!). Too long I have day dreamed of earning more pennies so I can afford to buy all the little things that make a simple life full. Too long I have shied away from the fact that I want to be a freelance writer. Yup, it’s all coming out!
And so, for new dreams/goals to enter my life I need to make my current ones happen – clear some space in the ol’ bonce. I don’t enjoy being someone who talks about dreams, I’d quite like to just get on with them frankly, but that can prove difficult when life gets in the way.
So instead of focusing so hard on the camper van, the ideal lifestyle and the writing career. I’m going to take them off their pedestal and attempt to make them happen. No grand statement or shouting from the rooftop, they’re just things I’d like to achieve this year, while we’re free of responsibilities and able to make them a reality. They won’t change the world but they are achievable and they’re all mine.
The imagination is a great thing. For me, it is a place to conjure up only good things to karate chop the bad things back where they belong. But the real magic is knowing we can make them real. Who knows? Once we own a camper van, I might conjure up fancy window curtains – the possibilities are endless, folks!
My one little word will be ushering me on to imagine new dreams as well as willing me to quit imagining my past and present ones. It’s a multi-tasker, a good all-rounder, and I think we’ll get along just nicely.
So enough of my present imaginations, I’m making them real. Here’s to 2013 and imagining some more…
Do you have One Little Word for the year?

Imagine may be one small word Lisa but it’s a very powerful one; I use it a lot xXx

I love your word, its so great and limitless, your possibilities are exciting 🙂
Mine this year is alleviate, I’m quite excited about it too as it feels like a doing word, so hopefully I’ll get a lot of things done that need doing this year.

What a wonderful word. The concept is brilliant, it really does work…

<3 this post, and your scarf!
My dream is also to own a camper van and travel around the UK blogging about it. I have to accept that it's not going to happen, but it's nice to dream isn't it?

It’s a wonderful dream! It can happen. While we have no real responsibilities It’s something that is achievable…I like achievable goals!

Your little word is a very good fit. I am giving you another. REALISE. Because you are going to realise you imaginings and dreams. I hope we are allowed to come on the journey.
Lisa
Thank you lovely! Why of course 🙂

Great post lovely and lots of luck with realising your dreams/imaginings (if that makes sense).
I think my word for the year is ‘Do’, not because I don’t believe in dreaming and imagining (I do, very much) but because I too want to make things happen.
Didn’t Eleanor Roosevelt say that the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams?
(I’m all about the motivational quotes 🙂

‘Do’ is a perfect word. You will make lots of things happen this year missus xx
