I’m in the mood for something tangy and satisfying so I’ll be baking up a Lemon Drizzle cake this week to help me begin a knitting project – the annual scarf. My imagination knows no bounds. I’m not the best knitter, mainly because I’m not patient enough to follow patterns, but I’ll get there one day. I’m a sewer at heart. Which leaves me in awe of the awesome projects featured in Knitting Everyday Finery, a stunning book of chic tutorials for the talented knitter who likes a little splendor in their life.

So cute, I love the dachshund pencil case! I’m still enjoying the weather being cold enough for pies, so my next craft project will be accompanied by apple pie and custard!

I’m making lots of banana bread at the moment so my knitting will probably be accompanied by that, or leftover wedding cake (we defrosted it recently and are now trying to eat it all). I’ll tweet just now.

i am the same as you, not a very patient knitter so small projects are the best which this book seems to be perfect for … however – i like my cakes big 🙂

Oooh I want to get back in to knitting again. It’s been a couple of years since I made anything.
And I will be making banana bread because it’s the only thing I ever bake.

I can’t even knit, but I’m entering anyway – it’s on my list of things to master before I hit thirty (four months to go, erk!).
I’m going to be making more banana and chocolate cake – it was probably the best thing I’ve ever made!

It’s definitely time for me to convert to knitting… I was into sewing, but my dog tried to eat my pin cushion (luckily all the pins were in my semi-finished curtains), and knitting needles are a bit safer for little dogs to chew on! My accompanying cake would be… Vegan brownies (made with tofu!), or mum’s lemon meringue pie, or maybe a cheekily early mince pie.

Although my knitting is still amateur, that book looks so joyful I have to enter! Hopefully it will inspire me to master more knitting projects (and definitely not give them to my expert knitter mummy to finish for me – ahem!).
Oh and my knitting is accompanied by the many variants of Herman the german sourdough cake that my mister keeps baking (currently enjoying a cherry and almond version).

I am re-teaching myself to knit, so this would be ideal. As it’s autumn, I’d have to make gingerbread, with dates and maybe white chocolate on top. Yum!

I’m currently sofa bound full of a terrible cold, starting my Christmas knits for my Mum & Sister, I’m already longing to do some selfish knitting for myself (& be over this ridiculous cold)! My knitting would have to be accompanied my a homemade bakewell tart!

Beautiful blog. Our next knitting project – a series of teddy bears for chairty – will be accompanied by a raspberry and almond chiffon sponge cake inspired by GBBO (seen as we can’t watch it anymore, we’re recreating the bakes ourselves… well trying too!)
