Declutter.

I’ve been decluttering of late. From sorting my clothes into throw, keep and charity piles to sorting my email inbox out. It’s surprising how a little tidy up can free up a bit of space in your head! Today is free listing day on Ebay so I’m gonna be listing tonight and hopefully making a few extra funds to put towards our next getaway, wherever that may be.

Here’s two things I’ve done that took me half an hour each that really have cheered me up. The simple things in life hey?…

Clearing my inbox – For some reason, I never delete emails, so they just sit there, building up and up until the computer is spitting them back out at me. Enough I say! So, not only have I deleted them. I’ve also unsubscribed to what felt like a million websites. Websites that either a) tempt me into buying clothes that I don’t need or b) I’m not interested in anymore. It felt good, it felt very good.

Labelling plugs – OK. This isn’t exciting stuff, I know, but in the long run, it really causes less stress when you’re trying to figure out which is the laptop plug. While I was at it I detangled all the wires too. My mum would be proud.

The best part of decluttering and having a tidy up is being able to display the things you cherish and want to keep. Opening your chest of drawers to neatly arrange tee’s and newly rolled up socks. Hmm, how long will it last I wonder?

Here’s a few great storage ideas that I’ve come across (Click on image for source) if you fancy a declutter yourself:

I love this. Storing beautiful heels in an old bookcase.
Using old suitcases is a nifty way to add that vintage look in your room, but practical for storage.
How pretty?! I think I might try padding out a wire hanger with pretty fabric to make one of these.

Happy Decluttering!

Decluttering is so satisfying. I am still in the process of organising all of my stuff, and I am sadly without necklace trees, instead most of them are hung over the edge of the mirror or splayed across my chest of drawers. Should probably attempt to find a new wall type solution.

I want to pick the bedroom in that photo up and put it into our flat – I’m now on a mission to find some old suitcases!

The necklace hanger is fab, mine are all shoved in little boxes, which are housed in bigger boxes. Dull!
