Illustration Thursday – The Mayberry Sparrow
My lovely sister is pregnant and quite frankly, I’m beside myself! I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for bits and bobs for the little un for when he/she arrives (not until next June!) and picked up some old children’s books which will look lovely framed in the nursery. Some of the book covers are beautiful. When they are old enough to read them, voila, pop the book out of the frame! If you don’t fancy that idea though look at these lovely illustrations from The Mayberry Sparrow, perfect for any nursery…and eager Aunty!

Its so lovely that your sister is pregnant! I am really close to my sister and I know that when one us has babies the other is going to implode with excitement in a sobbing mess!
When my baby brother was born 18 months ago, I also went on a frenzy of baby crafting! some of it here http://seedsandstitches.blogspot.com/2009/05/crafty-baby.html. I really enjoyed looking up all the baby stuff, and I love making things for him too! This christmas I am going to try and make him a stuffed peppa pig! eap.
Framing books is a fantastic idea too.

These are really beautiful!
Do you know the writer Margaret Atwood? As well as her novels, she has written and illustrated children’s books – Up In the Tree especially has wonderful illustrations, I think you might like it!
