Hebden Bridge

Off t’market

Happy Monday!

Apologies for being away a while, I’ve been working, crafting, thrifting and visiting friends. I had such a great weekend, some quality time with friends always does the trick doesn’t it? I just wished we all lived in the same town, we’re scattered all over the place.

I cannot believe how close Christmas is. For some strange reason, I actually keep forgetting, strange huh? For some reason the Christmas spirit has left me a little bit this week. I’m hoping it will return when we go for Christmas drinks and meals next week. Ah well, I’ve got a week and a bit to catch up on it. I guess that’s the problem with starting Christmas in October!

Hmm, what else has been happening? Well, I’ve been really lucky the past few weeks with vintage finds and had a great morning yesterday hunting through charity shops in West Bridgford. I love it so much because you have absolutely no idea what you are going to stumble across…an adventure! Last week, at the secondhand market in Hebden Bridge, I saw a large 1960s Cantilever sewing box out of the corner of my eye. Knowing I needed one (I promise, I actually do need one) I thought I’d ask how much it was. After a bit of haggling I got it for £7! It’s beautiful and in perfect condition. I couldn’t believe my luck! Then I was lucky enough to receive a present from my dear friend Amy this weekend – a small sewing box. It fits perfectly on my nice new craft table. Thank you Amy.

I’m planning on going to a few vintage/antique fairs early next year. There’s one in Lincolnshire in January that I’m really looking forward to. Also, I can’t wait  for the car boot season to begin again. Oh dear, I think I am addicted.

Finally, for all you vintage and antique loves out there, here are some carboot/market inspired photographs I selected from weheartit.com – enjoy!
