Hebden Bridge

Bye Bye July!

I was buying some Asparagus today and wondered when it is in season, then lost all train of thought when I realised its August tomorrow. How did that happen? Summer is passing so quickly, and I haven’t done most of the things I said I would. So, I’ve made a wee list of things that I want to do before the summer is over and out.

1.Picnic fun…

…in the sun plus a  bottle of wine, a few sarnies, and not forgetting the odd cupcake. If I was rich, I’d use these set of 4 melamine Folk side plates by Thomas Paul from Not on the Highstreet.com to make it extra fun!

2.Here comes the sun!

I want to get my legs out in the sun. Now I did do this whilst at Glastonbury Festival but at the time wasn’t sure whether it was a tan or a collection of dirt.  I’d like to see a bit of colour on my shockingly white legs, just for a week or so. If there is no sun, then I’ll settle for this Sun Jar by bob by post

3.Ice cream please!

A trip to the seaside for the day would be lovely. I’d buy a post card, eat ice cream and paddle in the cold, cold sea. Ah, a trip to the seaside screams out Summer!

That’s as far as I got, don’t want to be too greedy or scare the Summer away!

This came through the post today and made me very happy. It’s from peas.org and has the best recipes all including, you guessed it, peas! Since reading it I’ve realised they are one of my favourite ingredients, so I thought I’d share the link so you can get your own recipe book for free. A couple of my favourites are The Pea, Bacon and Mustard Macaroni Cheese recipe and Pea and Goat’s Cheese tart…drool. Hurrah for peas!
