Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair 2012
Alison Bartram (owner of Heart Gallery) and moi at the 2011 GNCCF opening evening
Two weeks today the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair returns to Spinningfields in Manchester to celebrate the very best designer-makers that the UK has to offer.
As an admirer of contemporary craft and design, fuelled by working at Heart Gallery, I can’t think of a better day spent than viewing the work of emerging and established artists and meeting them too. I better take my purse.
Celebrating its 5th anniversary, GNCCF sees the return of the Great Northern Graduates stand (always exciting seeing new talent) and for the first time will see talks from prominent figures from the contemporary craft world. Another cause for celebration, Hebden Bridge designer and shop owner, Hannah Nunn, will also be launching her debut book, Illuminate. Three cheers for Hebden Bridge talent!
The GNCCF runs from the 4th – 7th October and all 150 UK designer-makers will be ready and waiting to show you their beautiful wares. I will see you there (elbows at the ready!).

oooh, Hannah’s book looks exciting. Wish I had the time and money to make it up to the craft fair this year.
