Bathroom Blues

AD / Gifted

Today I’m collaborating with homeware brand Lick, who are a brand new online only retailer specialising in premium quality paints, wallpaper and decorating supplies.

Over lockdown we managed to do some home jobs, including interior and exterior painting, amidst staring out the window wondering why the world was falling apart. We painted our porch from a greyish kind of white (it wasn’t that colour on purpose) to a greyish kind of blue which we love, and it made us rethink other spaces in our home.

We decorated our bathroom a few years back (see our old bathroom here), with new tiling and kept the walls white thinking it would keep the space fresh and bright. But after looking through the colour options on the Lick website I realised using a bold accent colour against the tiles would make them stand out, whilst also making the room warm and inviting. Perfect for the cooler months and the never ending baths ahead.

So we chose the 05 warm mid blue pigment rich paint from Lick. It’s a good match with our Moroccan style floor tiles, white metro tiles and the wooden accents throughout.

What do you think, campers?

As for the actual decorating, the paint gave great coverage, with next to no odour. I don’t think we’ve ever decorated a room faster, with no more than two coats both drying in super quick time. Apparently it has a durable finish that resists dirt, grime and everyday scrapes too, which will be useful when Polly makes a mess post-bath!

Lick also offer bespoke interior consultations with a colour stylist to ensure you’re getting the most out of your purchase before committing to buying anything, which is useful if you’re unsure about buying paint online.

I think the only thing that is missing now is more plants. Maybe a hanging feature wall above the bath? Best get propagating, before I start staring out the window again worrying about the world.

P.S Since writing this draft blog post, I’ve fallen in love with our small bathroom even more. The paint coverage is so good and it only took us less than a day. Give me a shout if you have any questions on the brand or paint! I really do recommend this brand. Thank you Lick for working with Mathilde heart Manech, and to my readers for supporting this space of mine.
