Gift Ideas for Outdoorsy Folk
Anyone else waiting on another payday before Christmas? I can’t be the only one who still has the majority of their Christmas presents to buy, surely? I’m not feeling stressed about it though (honest) as I know what I will be buying for people and I know that any online purchases will be delivered in time (my bank will probably stop my card on payday with the hive of activity!). If you’re looking for ideas still, I thought I’d compile a list of great gifts for any outdoorsy types you might know (I am proudly one of them).
Skincare | Hand cream, lip balm or sun cream make great gifts for anyone who enjoys the great outdoors. Look for creams with SPF, and something a little luxurious to add to their backsack. I’ve just ordered some Neal’s Yard Wild Rose moisturising SPF 30 as a treat for myself, and I can never have enough lip balms at this time of year too. Hello chapped lips!
Outdoor Clothing | Whether that’s a coat, fleece or a bobble hat. Someone will really appreciate the thought when they are on a long walk on a cold winter’s day. I was gifted the Craghoppers Emley Jacket from Hawkshead and I’ve not had it off my back since winter arrived. It’s ideal for our winter adventures; it’s long in length, waterproof, includes 6 pockets (for those mini mince pies!) and is breathable as well as insulating. I can confirm it survived the snow at the weekend too and I’ve not been cold once. In classic black, it’s a timeless and practical winter coat, and is currently in the sale at £75 (RRP £110).
If your budget is smaller why not gift a fleece (I really love this Cragghoppers striped fleece) or for someone who is a proper trekker, try these slim fitting walking trousers (pictured). P.S These pants are a revelation. They feel like regular leggings but keep me so warm (tested them on a 14k snow walk at the weekend!).
Food | Gimme all the food gifts. At Christmas I love coming home to revitalising food or enjoying snacks whilst I’m out walking (more Walk + Eat blog posts to come soon!). The beauty of gifting food is that you can make something yourself or treat them to something luxurious – it suits all budgets.
Creative gifts | Time spent outdoors can provide much inspiration. Great stocking fillers could include camera accessories including a portable battery, camera lens kit, weatherproof phone case or a simle notebook.
Backpack |And to carry all the snacks, why not treat your loved one to a new day backpack. There’s so many to choose from nowadays including the designer options, Herschel Supply Co or Fjallraven.
Do you have any outdoor adventures planned this Christmas?
