Cosy Camping Essentials

Cosy camping essentials

When I’m camping I like to embrace the simplicity of it; the fresh air, being unplugged from the world and the minimal nature of outdoor living.

Luck would have it we’re venturing off to End of the Road Festival next week, which I reckon is the perfect way to sign off our summer in style. It’s the next best thing to a proper camping trip, as it’s one of the most chilled out festivals I’ve ever been to. We’ll be camping for 4 nights and although I will be keeping my packing list light (see this more thorough Festival packing list I wrote a few years ago) I will be including a few home comforts in my rucksack too; things that remind me of home, and that add a little luxury and convenience to my camping experience.

If you like to camp in comfort too and are looking to make the most of the final weeks of summer, take a look at my cosy camping essentials list and get outdoors!

Electric toothbrush | Besides a morning shower which I can’t count on at a festival (hello baby wipes!), the next best thing to wake me up and make me feel human again is brushing my teeth. For added luxury this year I’ll be bringing my electric toothbrush from the Wall Street Collection c/o Bruzzoni. Finally a toothbrush that combines design and function! This minimal and stylish toothbrush is a definite cosy camp essential, and it looks pretty dandy too with its leather exterior, rose gold features and charging unit.

As for function, the oscillating speed is 8000 rpm, which is better than our other, less stylish, electric toothbrush. You can charge it via your laptop which makes it really handy for travelling and it also includes a travel case and pouch. After charge, it has 40mins of brushing time so it’s ideal for weekends away camping. Surely I win the best toothbrush on the camping site competition?

Tea and Coffee| I never knew filter coffee in a bag existed (like a tea bag) until the OH stayed at a swanky hotel. Am I the only person that didn’t know about them?! Needless to say our enamel mugs will be filled  each morning and night with our favourite hot beverages. Filter coffee in a bag, who knew?

Creative past times | Even with all the good things going on at a festival, you’ll find there’s always lots of free time early morning. probably because we’re not stuck to our phones. Take that book you’ve been wanting to read, a craft project you could finish or if like me, and you find festivals an inspiring place, bring your pen, notebook and camera.

Blanket | My favourite Welsh blanket will be coming with me to keep me warm at night. It’s a must!

Homemade Goodies | Food eaten outdoors or after a day spent outdoors always taste amazing so I’ll  be bringing a tin of homemade bakes to cheer up any rain clouds and save on pennies.

Your Sleeping Essentials | Besides the blow up bed my sleeping must-haves include my favourite pillow (and pillowcase I’ve had since a child), a sleep mask and lavender spray. I tend to sleep well when camping (usually exhausted after a day outdoors) but these goodies will help me find some comfort if not.

Mahabis slippers | Who brings slippers when camping? I DO! Mahabis Slippers include a detachable outer soles to wear outside – perfect for pottering in our camping area.

Suncream | I made a big mistake during the Yorkshire Three Peaks and forgot to wear suncream. Never again. Clouds can be deceiving in the UK, so I’ll be wearing all the factor 30 no matter the weather.

Medication |Pain killers, vitamins, energy tablets, bug spray/cream. A happy and healthy body means I can have more fun!

Sunglasses | Apart from being practical, they are also very useful, in the early morning when you need to hide from the world (or from anyone who saw you dancing the previous night).
