Polly ate an ankle sock the other week so I’m taking no more chances and investing in the biggest baddest socks a gal can own. These Neon Slipper Socks (£12) via Accessorize will do nicely. They’ve got a gorgeous Fairisle print and include pom-poms too. Disco.

I seem to be emptying my brain into my notebooks on an hourly basis at the moment; it’s the only way I can get through the day without panicking. I love the simple and fun illustrations on the Seaside Seagulls Notebook (£6.50) via Evermade.

My office has turned into a dumping ground of late and it’s no fun. I’m thinking it might be the next room we decorate which will hopefully inspire me to do a good declutter one day soon.  The minimal Desk Tidy (£20) via Southwood Stores might be good motivation too.

The other day my colleague confirmed it was only 6 weeks till we break up for Christmas. 6 weeks! I’m lucky in that I love my work and the people I work with but boy am I looking forward to getting busy doing the simple things like walking, reading and baking. My hands and lips need lots of care now the weather has decided to go all crazy on us so I’m using more lip balm than usual. This Raw Coconut Lip Tonic (£8.95) via Sister & Co looks a real treat. Gorgeous packaging too.

I love this brand and I particularly like this teapot (£16) via Kikki.K. Just darling (and I don’t like the word ‘darling’).

Books, books, books. I have a long list to read and Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl: A Memoir by Carrie Brownstein (£13.24 Hardback) is at the top of my Christmas wish list.

It must be a seasonal thing but I’ve been coveting velvet recently. There’s not a chance we could own any furniture made from velvet with Polly the Destroyer around. So instead I shall live vicariously through my blog and ‘ooh’ and ‘ahh’ at ease at luxurious pieces like the Anna Armchair (£749) via Fishpools. Oooh.
