At Home: Best of British Campaign

uk lifestyle blog

As part of the Atlantic Shopping’s Best of British campaign I created a British inspired room celebrating this wonderful country of ours. With my interior challenge face on and sleeves rolled up, I perused the internet for British inspiration.

Before we begin, here is our little living room. Teeny tiny I know, but it’s a comfortable, cosy and cheerful space that we’ve spent the past 4 years in. This was an especially nice day when the sun streamed through our south-facing windows; I can’t wait for more summery days to come!

As you can see our room is currently made up of a mix-match of colours and patterns not really inspired by anything at all, but with a little thought, I came up with a few choice pieces that would lend itself to a perfectly British styled room with no Union Jacks in sight!

746 Petrol Retro Phone // Brighton Rock Poster, Allposters.com // Thea Tripod Table Lamp, Very //White Wire Storage, M&S // Gumball Coat Hooks, Oliver Bonas // Roberts Revival Radio, Argos // Oak Coffee Table, Atlantic Shopping // Liberty print cushion, Tea and Kate

My Best of British room would include classic British designs including the 746 Retro Phone and Roberts Revival Digital Radio. Then, inspired by the British countryside and the most common tree in Britain, I’d include oak accents with furniture and accessories. I’d include ditsy floral print cushions, wire and wicker storage solutions and retro inspired accessories; all brought together with an iconic British film print or two.

Add a big teapot filled with English breakfast and a Victoria Sponge cake and you have yourself a quintessential British room!

Inspired by Atlantic Shopping’s ‘Best of British’ Campaign, I joined in with the challenge to design a British inspired room. How would you design a British inspired room?
