Craft Books To Read: Just Sew Stories

Today I’m taking part in Hardie Grant Books blog tour reviewing Katie Allen’s new craft book, Just Sew Stories, with other bloggers from across the UK. It has been lovely reading what the other ladies think of the book and so far we are all in agreement. Just Sew Stories is ace. Three letter words of praise are the best, I tell thee.

There are 25 sewing tutorials in the book, with four chapters aimed at people with different sewing skills: Easy As Pie, Get Your Craft On, Crafty Minx and It’s a Wrap. They are all perfectly achievable though once you pop your craft-confident cap on! My favourite projects include the hand-embroidered hankies (I had a quick go on a lazy afternoon), the bow ties, bossy tea towels and the dotty quilt – pretty stuff. Not forgetting the tote bag tutorial of course – this week’s tote of the week perhaps?

If you fancy making handmade gifts this year for the first time or just need some inspiration I would highly recommend this book to get you started. Katie’s enthusiasm for craft shines throughout and I love that she wants everyone to have a go, whether you’re new to crafting or a crafty minx!

See below for the lovely links and read the other blog tour participants thoughts, pictures, craftiness and an interview with the author herself. Oh and don’t forget the competition to be in with a chance of winning your own copy!
