The Humble Knit
As we are being cheated out of our Great British Summer this year, I think it quite appropriate for us to regain some Winter benefits. I’m talking about cosy knitwear, comfort food served in bowls, fragrant mulled wine, crackling open fires & dare I even mention Christmas – we are over halfway, y’know? All the things that we love about Winter that make us forget about the horrible weather is exactly what I need right now. Of course, I would prefer to not give up on Summer just yet but our little town of Hebden Bridge has taken quite a beating from the rain of late so I need some inspiration to keep me sane. Cue the humble knit…

I want to say noooo… but we’ve had the fire and the heating on for the last few nights. And I’ve had extra blankets on the bed again. I’m still hoping for a late summer… just a little bit of sunshine, come on world!

We are getting sunshine and showers, but I always look forward to jumper season and am really craving a cable knit sweater for September onwards (and bet we get a warm September to not allow me the chance to wear it for a while!)

To be honest, my knits are never very far from my back all year round. I even put my trusty woolly hat on today (yes, in July) but I am an extreme example of someone who feels the cold I think.
