Hebden Bridge

Up & down.

Those who know me well know I have two hair styles – up and down. Up, being tied in a ponytail. Down, straightened or left wavy.

My hair has always been long or mid-length apart from one occasion at University when I drastically lobbed it off (big mistake!). I’ve never really had the inclination to spend time on my hair, same with make-up too. But I’ve noticed over the past year this has begun to change.

At the grand old age of 31 I  paint my nails. This is an achievement for me as my friends will concur. I wear dresses almost daily (I can feel my teenage self cringing). And now, Ladies and Gentlemen, I’m ready to embrace my hair!

So I went fishing and came across some gorgeous up-do styles from the fabulous blog A Cup of Jo. My hair isn’t that long so I can’t do some of these but I get the jist! Click on each of the photos to be directed to her tutorials…they’re just lovely and so is her blog!

I don’t have a picture of the back, but the three twisted buns worked perfectly and was super easy for a gal like me. Here’s the front picture though! Cheers!

Georgia-Aren’t they lovely? I’m gonna try them all! X
Lisa-Marie – I’m kinda practical with my hair, when it needs to be up it’s up etc. So it’s just nice making an effort with these styles! Plus it’s not fallen out all day! Woopla! x

I had twist bus for my wedding hair, but with half up and half down! I LOVE the messy ponytail.

My hair is either up in a messy but or down and straight, though as it’s getting longer, I might let my natural curls/waves come out to play soon.

I really like these styles too and have bookmarked the braided crown as wedding hair possibly and want to try these when my hair gets longer as good alternatives to the messy bun or half ponytail that I wore when it was long (hence lopping it off).

    Love that photo!

Cheers! I’m so pleased you are embracing the hairdos! I love messing about with my hair, I’ve always been a real girly girl and love playing dress up.

Have never tried the three little buns though – maybe my next experiment?

Elizabeth-It’s strange that I’m becoming more ‘girly’ as I grow up. I was always the gal in jeans and converse…! Do the three buns, it’s tres pretty!x

Siobhan- The braid would be gorgeous as a wedding do. How exciting! x
