Hebden Bridge

The good life…

We’re trying to sort out our little patch of outside space to look nice for the Summer. You know, a few plant pots here and there to add a bit of colour, a couple of lanterns with citronella candles to scare away the pesky bugs and a newly painted door.

We have bluebells and daffodils left lovingly by our landlords Mum, that sprung a few weeks back and Boy Boo has been weeding and playing around with the new hose pipe (his new best friend). I can tell you this, there’s nothing like a trip to the garden centre to make you drop down to earth with a bump. We own a hose pipe. Therefore, we are officially adults. Gulp.

So anyhoo, I’m on the look out for nice bits and bobs for the garden. The lovely Kathryn, from Kat Got the Cream suggested teapots as planters, so I’m hunting for some in charity shops etc. I’m also on the hunt for some crates from our local greengrocer.

There are so many lovely things I’ve seen online (although we don’t have a budget at the mo. Stupid hose pipe) – I can look though can’t I?!

Plantabox

I love this idea. Mint for Mojito, Coriander for gin based drinks, Rosemary in vodka based drinks, and Gin in a Martini. I must find our cocktail book.

Town House Bird Box by Berry Red

I adore this bird house. If only I had listened in CDT classes at school I’d try to make one. Alas I was too busy, whacking my fingers with the hammer and spending time in the school nurses office. Cute though, huh?

A seasonal guide to British fruit & vegetables (Tea Towel)

I really love this Tea Towel, potential framer perhaps?

Seed Box by The original metal box company

I love this company. I love this seed box. End of.

I know, I couldn’t believe it when they popped up! Its the simplest things that put a smile on my face. Hope your patch sees a few bluebells here and there! x

He he, what a great name – Stoodley Pike! Some stunning photos Lisa. Sounds like spring has well and truly sprung round your way too, and the flowers are lovely x

‘allo, ‘allo, just wanted to say good luck with the hunt for tea pot planters! Looking forward to seeing the results soon – although the garden’s looking mighty fine already!
