Once upon a time…

Following on from the Ladybird treats in the previous post, I stumbled upon their range of vintage Ladybird prints.

As a child I always fell in love with the illustrations in books. I’d read a paragraph, then go back to the previous illustration, read some more, go back some more, carry on reading then go and spoil the story by looking at the pictures at the end of the book. Thankfully as I got older I got to appreciate the words as much as the illustrations!

I do remember quite specifically the Ladybird illustrations. Always so detailed, colourful, and beautifully done, leaving you room to imagine some more. So, here’s a few that rekindled some lovely memories:

    Oh Lisa, this has taken me back to a place I didn’t know I remembered!! I LOVED reading Ladybird books as a child and it is so wonderful to learn of these prints!
