Made! How To Make a Boutonniere for Weddings

Can you remember before Christmas when I was set a challenge by Country Baskets to create a Christmas themed decoration? Well the crafty challenge has been set again but this time for a Spring/Summer wedding themed decoration. I do like a challenge, especially when it takes my mind off grown up house buying stuff! I, along with 20 other bloggers, were sent a bouquet of faux flowers, lace ribbon, a roll of purple organza, wired crystals, diamantes on a long strand, a roll of…

    Bookmarked: Minted Stationery

Minted, the online stationery shop, stumbled upon my wee blog and spotted I had a weakness for the following; contemporary design, stationery and independent designers. They suggested I take a quick peek at the site full of wonders and washi tape and see what I thought. Ooh the little devils. I’m weak, I told you. Here’s what I thought and what makes them different. Minted, is an online marketplace selling design-led stationery, art and party decor; all created by independent designers…

    Gift Guide: Gifts for Weddings

When it comes to buying a wedding gift, I’m perfectly happy going along with what the couple request on the invitation; a donation to their honeymoon fund perhaps or buying something from a curated wedding list. However for wedding couples who don’t ask for anything but the plesaure of your company or if you can’t make it to the wedding at all, it’s nice to find a little something to pop a smile on their faces. A screen print is…

    6 DIY Wedding Crafts

Following on from last year’s blog post of lovely DIY wedding crafts (I left quite a gap there!), here’s a few more which I found via the wonder that is Pinterest and the amazing Martha Stewart Weddings website. All the links to each image can be found below. Enjoy! Arranging flowers is a craft, I tell ya. I know this because I’m rubbish at it. But how lovely is this arrangement of colourful flowers complimented with the ribbons and jam jars?…

Heart Gallery – ‘I DO’ Wedding Exhibition

Yesterday saw the launch of the ‘I DO’ wedding exhibition at Heart Gallery in Hebden Bridge, a  showcase of work from UK designer/makers to tempt brides, grooms, family and friends! A few familiar faces (Go The Whole Hog and Milk Bar) also provided customers with delicious food and beverages in the garden, making it a pretty perfect Sunday afternoon! Alison Bartram , owner of Heart Gallery, saying ‘cheese’ next to the stunning display of flowers from The Willow Garden. An…

    Lately

Well, the weekend was pretty special. How was it for you? We took a hop, skip and a jump to lovely Wales to celebrate my friend’s wedding in the gorgeous Caerphilly Castle. Surrounded by a moat, the medieval castle created the perfect venue to what was a magical day; the perfect wedding dress on a stunning bride, bubbles & teary speeches, laughs in photo booths, drunken adventures around the castle & dancing (sans shoes) till my feet hurt. Such…

    Wedding Season

I have two weddings to look forward to this year (both include hog roasts at the reception – oh my) therefore the dress hunt has begun. I have three options – working with what I already have (I do have a trip to Australia to save for), borrow from an obliging friend, or purchase a new dress (I have no shame and will happily wear the same dress at both weddings – accessorise darling!). If it is the latter, I’m…
